Deluge

The deafening uproar of
a black skies solid deluge
explodes on our long low roof.

An opaque curtain of water
cascades from the guttering
over our narrow pathway
on to the clotheslines in its
weighty uproar on to
the back path torrent.

The front driveway is
drowned in a vast lake
from street to back fence.

Several days’ rainfall
has arrived all at once.

      1. course if it’s not raining ..you can’t really fill it up anyway and after awhile it will just evaporate. I wish there was a way to ship snow to places that need it. ( I’ll leave the cold temps up here…you wouldn’t like them…)
